Center Director being interviewed on CCTV about how supercomputer accelerates scientific discovery
With the support from Tianhe-2, the supercomputer located in the National Supercomputer Center in Guangzhou, China, CORE's Director Prof. Jianping Gan and his research team successfully developed three-dimension, high-resolution, multiscale China Sea ocean modeling system, to monitor, diagnose and study the ocean circulation, biogeochemical processes, aquaculture and marine pollution in 2020. As one of the pioneers in Hong Kong that uses supercomputer to support scientific research, Prof. Gan was being interviewed on CCTV to talk about how the rapid development of supercomputing industry in China accelerates scientific discovery.
